Officially, our Homeschool Volleyball season starts the first week in August and ends right after our National Volleyball Tournament at the end of October. There are off-season practices during winter/spring and clinics in the spring.
We need parents from each family to volunteer during the season to make Warriors work! In addition to scorekeeping and line judging during games, we have many roles to fill throughout the season (i.e., Team Parent, Travel Coordinator, Awards Night, etc.) We've found that when you can serve in the area of your gifts, the serving can be a real joy.
The Omaha Metro Warriors hosts a National Volleyball Tournament which is our primary method of fundraising. Specifically, this tournament allows us to keep registration costs low for our families. For the last 25+ years, the tournament has been managed by Warrior families - a tradition that continues to this day. Registering for Warriors assumes you will be able to contribute your time to assist with the tournament in some capacity during the 3-4 days (minimum 2 shifts per family.) Each family will need to provide a $400 volunteer deposit check that will be held until after Nationals to ensure shifts are fulfilled, OR opt for a $400 buyout at registration.
